Founded in March 2018 by a passionate ophthalmologist couple from across the India-Nepal border, Dr. Amar Keyal and Dr. Vandana Keyal, Kiran Eye Hospital was established to address the the lack of quality eye care in the border regions of Nepal and India. Their mission was to provide world-class ophthalmic services, making Birgunj their home and bringing international standards of eye care to the region.

Both founders bring extensive expertise, having trained and worked at some of the world’s most renowned eye care institutions, including Sankara Nethralaya (Chennai, India), Aravind Eye Hospital (Madurai, India), New York Eye and Ear Infirmary (NYEEI) (New York, USA), and Royal Free Hospital (RFH) (London, UK). Their broad experience across specialties—such as Retina, Cataract, Glaucoma, and Paediatric Ophthalmology—has made Kiran Eye Hospital a comprehensive one-stop destination for complete eye care solutions.
